This was a fun play session with my good friend Jacklyn Johnson. She had a few fun spring products to launch and Photograph and of course anything to help her out I’m in! Jackyln is an amazing women she alone exclusively supplies our studio with hundreds of custom hair pieces a year. Her goodies make all the difference and are my clients #1 requested prop here at MTR. This Children’s Photography session was taken at my Yuba City studio.   We have been following little Ethan through his 1st year.   Ethan was such a happy little boy during his birthday photography session.   You never know how 1 year olds are going to act towards their cake, but Ethan absolutely loved his cake!   We had a great time capturing amazing photos with his cake.  He was such a good boy, we captured many amazing photos.    Mom has such a great fashion sense, so Ethan had many adorable outfit changes.   Grandma came along with the family, so we had her join in on some of the photos.   Overall this was a wonderful, fun session!   Thanks Mayo family for allowing me to follow Ethan through his 1st year, we look forward to seeing you soon!   To look back at Ethan, click here

This children’s and family photography session was done at my studio in Yuba City. I just met the Pincsak Family just a few short months ago as I started following baby sidney at 2 months. She has been such a joy to work with. Their family is so laid back and up for anything.  Sidney was such a good girl today and didn’t make a peep at her session just had a blast playing dress up. she is so cute I cant stand it! well the Pincsak family will be keeping this yuba city photographer busy as I see them again VERY soon for their family session. There are lots of choices out there for family and children’s photography and thanks for choosing moments to remember. I cant wait to watch Sidney grow up to be a little princess.

The Meinkings are very close family friends!  We have wanted to get them in for a Family Photography session for awhile now.  This Family Photography session started out at the Gillen Ranch.  We had a great time with this family.  They had their Family Photography Session along with the Gillen family.  Morgan and Madison had a lot of fun posing for all the exciting photographs that we took.  They are always cooperative during their Children’s Photography sessions.  I have watched these 2 girls grow up into beautiful young ladies.  I think dad even had a little fun during this Family Photography session.  We finished the session in Marysville.  Overall, the evening was a blast!

Today I had the privilege of being on my 1st traveling photography session with this Yuba City family. I have been the Ellis Families Photographer since early 2009 and have loved every minute of knowing this family. I love working with them as they are soooo much fun as you will see in their portfolio. This is not your traditional photography session that I do at my studio in Yuba City. In fact it’s quiet the opposite.  When you travel and find neat locations like these the sky is the limit on what I can do with a family. This Photography style is not for everyone but I am hoping it may spark the interest of some o f my Yuba City and Marysville clients and cause them to think outside the box for their sessions. I am not only exclusively going to be doing urban, but I do want to offer urban kids and urban family photography as a choice now for families. I still get calls daily for the jeans and white t-shirts very traditional photo shoots and I am happy to accommodate those clients as that was the foundation of my business. I may now however choose suggesting spicing your clothing selection up a bit with splashes of color. Now that clients have seen some of my new colorful stylish work several of you have requested clothing consultations. This has been very fun to accommodate you on this because I believe whole heartedly clothing/color is key in my sessions now. It makes for one more interesting factor to make your family picture different from any one else’s. Thanks Ellis family for an awesome photography session.  I am posting this to inform all clients that I will only be posting all new session sneek peeks on Mondays now. If I get a little crazy I might do Fridays also dependant on my work load. I love my blog. Its one of my favorite things to do, but it also consumes many hours to maintain per week. So the way my workload looks right now I have to focus on shooting and getting your jobs out during the week. There are only one of me and only so many hours in the day.

 On an urban note, I have been doing this for almost 2 years now and am just amazed at how it has taken off. I started out 2 years ago not knowing anything about photography at all only the desire to learn. In 2 years I have learned so much. This has been quiet an adventure! I started out a jeans and white t- shirt kind of photographer. Well as of this spring my whole world has changed. I see color/location/clothing as key features that make the difference between and ordinary photography session and an EXTRODANARY one.  You will notice y complete portfolio has changed. I want to say I am marketing myself as the versatile Yuba City photographer. I want to offer something for everyone. If you love the fun adventures of an urban shoot great, but if you want the sophisticated/simplistic look of the jeans and white T- shirt in a natural setting than I want to do what makes you happy. My only goal here is to wake up Yuba City and open their eyes to color and fun locations. Even if my style may offer a more modern urban look I still want to incorporate the priceless moments of families reading together or blowing bubbles together etc. All the things that have built this business for me I still maintain.

 

 

{ ALL THE COOL CLOTHING YOU SEE }

 I am going to address this now BC its been a topic of conversation for my clients. Clothing—- the question of the hour!!! What do I wear????? That has always been the age old Q. Well now more than ever many of you are noticing my families in the coolest clothes. Well this does NOT happen by sheer accident, it takes planning and the desire to stand out. I am happy to say I have a complete wardrobe for kids now. Most all the unique kids clothing accessories and props you see in my portfolio are mine. The idea is you bring me a base and I build upon your style and get a look that is right for you. I have has several clothing consultation requests to assist in the process and I have done that with clients purchasing the CD option or buying a bigger packages. This had been a a fun new component in my sessions.

 

{ FALL SESSIONS }

 I know there are many of you who want to schedule fall sessions. I have all your names and I will be calling clients Aug 15th ish for scheduling. I have quiet a list already and want to assure you get 1st choice at the dates you want before just your average Joe’s start calling in. Its going to be a busy fall/Christmas season. In my opinion the best time for fall sessions is late September / October. Of course I am sure I will be doing sessions up until Christmas, but if we want to make ordering Christmas products stress free starting early is good.

 

 

{ MORE MINI SESSIONS AND SUPER MINI SESSIONS }

 Back @ school is cool photos. If you want something awesome for school pictures than this is your year. I will be offering super mini sessions (these are one shot quickies- not 15 minute sessions) for back 2 school photos.

 

 I wanted to give you all the FYI that I will be offering super mini sessions at harvest time Early October for your kiddos in Halloween attire.

 

 I will be offering a few Santa days In Nov and December that will be mini sessions and super mini session as well.

This was a photography session I did on yuba city today at my studio with little Darcy Gillen. Our Family has been friends with the Gillens since little Darcy was almost 2. Being a Photographer/friend I have been able to capture some of Darcy’s fun moments growing up from wake boarding to back to school photos. Darcy did not used to like taking photos but now she is in charge of her photography sessions like a little poser. These sessions was taken at my home photography studio in Yuba city. As most of you al know daycare is my normal profession outside of photography in Yuba City. Having a photographer as your daycare provider is sometimes very handy. These kids all have no shortage of pictures around here that’s for sure. One of my good friends always teases me and went to the lengths of making me my own bumpers sticker saying my babies and my paycheck go to the busy bees daycare. Fawn is my funny friend and always getting pictures of her boys. This was a perfect day for princess in Yuba city on Friday. These girls has a BLAST!!! Everyone dressed up in their princess and prince attire in order to attend the royal tea party. This was so much fun and something they will certainly remember forever. Thanks guys for a fun day and enjoy your pics of your princesses and princes.

These were just a few of the fun pictures I got at relay from Saturday. This was the 1st year I have done or even been to this even. It was amazing! It was such an fun day. Words can’t explain the feeling you get when you see just how many people have been affected by cancer. It was a very sobering day. It truly makes you appreciate just how lucky we really are to be healthy. I wish I would have taken more pictures of all our little helpers in action because it was honestly a sight to see. The biggest { little } helpers of the day were Chelsea, Darcy and Mason. Those Kiddos made a TON of snow cones and cotton candy. They were there every minute of our day and never stopped helping. I want to thank all my Daycare families for their support time and donations making this booth possible. Also Raychell needs a very special thanks as she was our team leader who kept us all in line. Next year I have a good idea what this event really is and we will get started much earlier and get many more families involved. Thanks again guys for such a fun day!

810blog1Hi Guys this year MTR and Busy Bees Daycare are doing a {Children and Laughter} booth at the 2009 Relay for life event. As you all know I do daycare and the photography as a side hobby. They really go hand in hand so what a better way to incorporate both for one fun day. I think it’s great because our little kiddos are learning lots about helping others in need. So our little Busy Bees are out in full force ready to make you the best snow cones and cotton candy you’ve ever tasted. So stop by and grab some for only $1.

This was the Hodge family. These guys were so much fun to work with. You never know with one year olds how it’s going to go. This little princess acted like she was right at home. It was extremely easy to do my job. This is Jacobs 2nd round of pictures with MTR. The last time I saw him was 2 yrs ago at Easter. How time flies. This was Katelyn’s 1st birthday shoot and we also did Jacobs 4 year old pictures. Jacob was a hansom little Dude. He was sooooo cute!!! His fun for the day was dressing up like daddy. Daddy is a sheriffs’ deputy. Every little boy grows up thinking his daddy is just the coolest thing that walked the earth. This is the case with Jake. You can see in his pictures just how proud he is. Well Hodge Family it was nice seeing the entire family this time around and can’t wait to see you in a few mos for family pictures.
