moments to remember: yuba city photographer

Today I had the privilege of being on my 1^st traveling photography session with this Yuba City family. I have been the Ellis Families Photographer since early 2009 and have loved every minute of knowing this family. I love working with them as they are soooo much fun as you will see in their portfolio. This is not your traditional photography session that I do at my studio in Yuba City. In fact it’s quiet the opposite.  When you travel and find neat locations like these the sky is the limit on what I can do with a family. This Photography style is not for everyone but I am hoping it may spark the interest of some o f my Yuba City and Marysville clients and cause them to think outside the box for their sessions. I am not only exclusively going to be doing urban, but I do want to offer urban kids and urban family photography as a choice now for families. I still get calls daily for the jeans and white t-shirts very traditional photo shoots and I am happy to accommodate those clients as that was the foundation of my business. I may now however choose suggesting spicing your clothing selection up a bit with splashes of color. Now that clients have seen some of my new colorful stylish work several of you have requested clothing consultations. This has been very fun to accommodate you on this because I believe whole heartedly clothing/color is key in my sessions now. It makes for one more interesting factor to make your family picture different from any one else’s. Thanks Ellis family for an awesome photography session. Today I had the privilege of being a photographer for this amazing Yuba City/ Marysville couple. The Wedding event took place in Marysville and was pretty amazing. I have not done a ton of weddings but each time I do go out I feel so blessed to have met such fun loving couples. This family was very friendly and welcoming. Being new at wedding photography you never know what the situation may be. I am always pleasantly suprprised.  I hope you enjoy your wedding photography as much as I enjoyed making your legacy come to life. I was there with another Yuba City Photographer Lorrain Friant as this was one of her co-workers and friends. We could not have asked for a smoother evening. Thanks Lorrain for a fun night!

{ SNEEK PEEKS }

 I am posting this to inform all clients that I will only be posting all new session sneek peeks on Mondays now. If I get a little crazy I might do Fridays also dependant on my work load. I love my blog. Its one of my favorite things to do, but it also consumes many hours to maintain per week. So the way my workload looks right now I have to focus on shooting and getting your jobs out during the week. There are only one of me and only so many hours in the day.

So every Monday will be “Magical Monday’s” for posts. Check back every Monday for all the latest from your Yuba City Photographer. There is always something cooking around here.

 { MY NEW URBAN DIVISION }

 On an urban note, I have been doing this for almost 2 years now and am just amazed at how it has taken off. I started out 2 years ago not knowing anything about photography at all only the desire to learn. In 2 years I have learned so much. This has been quiet an adventure! I started out a jeans and white t- shirt kind of photographer. Well as of this spring my whole world has changed. I see color/location/clothing as key features that make the difference between and ordinary photography session and an EXTRODANARY one.  You will notice y complete portfolio has changed. I want to say I am marketing myself as the versatile Yuba City photographer. I want to offer something for everyone. If you love the fun adventures of an urban shoot great, but if you want the sophisticated/simplistic look of the jeans and white T- shirt in a natural setting than I want to do what makes you happy. My only goal here is to wake up Yuba City and open their eyes to color and fun locations. Even if my style may offer a more modern urban look I still want to incorporate the priceless moments of families reading together or blowing bubbles together etc. All the things that have built this business for me I still maintain.

{ ALL THE COOL CLOTHING YOU SEE }

 I am going to address this now BC its been a topic of conversation for my clients. Clothing—- the question of the hour!!! What do I wear????? That has always been the age old Q. Well now more than ever many of you are noticing my families in the coolest clothes. Well this does NOT happen by sheer accident, it takes planning and the desire to stand out. I am happy to say I have a complete wardrobe for kids now. Most all the unique kids clothing accessories and props you see in my portfolio are mine. The idea is you bring me a base and I build upon your style and get a look that is right for you. I have has several clothing consultation requests to assist in the process and I have done that with clients purchasing the CD option or buying a bigger packages. This had been a a fun new component in my sessions.

{ FALL SESSIONS }

 I know there are many of you who want to schedule fall sessions. I have all your names and I will be calling clients Aug 15^th ish for scheduling. I have quiet a list already and want to assure you get 1^st choice at the dates you want before just your average Joe’s start calling in. Its going to be a busy fall/Christmas season. In my opinion the best time for fall sessions is late September / October. Of course I am sure I will be doing sessions up until Christmas, but if we want to make ordering Christmas products stress free starting early is good.

{ MORE MINI SESSIONS AND SUPER MINI SESSIONS }

 Back @ school is cool photos. If you want something awesome for school pictures than this is your year. I will be offering super mini sessions (these are one shot quickies- not 15 minute sessions) for back 2 school photos.

 I wanted to give you all the FYI that I will be offering super mini sessions at harvest time Early October for your kiddos in Halloween attire.

 I will be offering a few Santa days In Nov and December that will be mini sessions and super mini session as well.

This photography session was so much fun as we did everything that summer represents- ice cream cones, playing in the sand and more! This was a photography session I did on yuba city today at my studio with little Darcy Gillen. Our Family has been friends with the Gillens since little Darcy was almost 2. Being a Photographer/friend I have been able to capture some of Darcy’s fun moments growing up from wake boarding to back to school photos. Darcy did not used to like taking photos but now she is in charge of her photography sessions like a little poser. These sessions was taken at my home photography studio in Yuba city. As most of you al know daycare is my normal profession outside of photography in Yuba City. Having a photographer as your daycare provider is sometimes very handy. These kids all have no shortage of pictures around here that’s for sure. One of my good friends always teases me and went to the lengths of making me my own bumpers sticker saying my babies and my paycheck go to the busy bees daycare. Fawn is my funny friend and always getting pictures of her boys. This was a perfect day for princess in Yuba city on Friday. These girls has a BLAST!!! Everyone dressed up in their princess and prince attire in order to attend the royal tea party. This was so much fun and something they will certainly remember forever. Thanks guys for a fun day and enjoy your pics of your princesses and princes.

We all know its hard to be our own families photographer. It’s near impossible.  We love the Friant Family!  It’s late tonight but I can’tresist posting at least a few of these adorable girls. This session was taken at one of my new locations in Yuba City for clients who want to travel for their photography session.  This awesome family was referred from the Van Dusen Family. I have been the VanDuesens Photographer since last spring and have enjoyed following all the changes to their family. When I think of this family I think of one word { troopers } ! Our photography session was on one of those 107 degree days in Yuba City. This family has a busy schedule and really wanted to get their photography taken care of. I expected cranky irritable clients. They were the exact opposite. They were such troopers and never complained one time. They happened to have 2 of the cutest kids on earth. From the second I laid eyes on these dollies I knew my job was going to be easy. They were so well mannered I might add. Thanks Cordiscos for all the fun! You win the award for being good sports on a 107 degree night in yuba city!

This photography shoot was done at one of my new locations in Yuba City. Family and Children is my specialty I would say,  so when I got a call from My dear friend Katy Ulrich that her mom was looking for a family and children’s photographer I knew it was a important mission. This photography session was for a party of 10 kids! WOW-  I knew it would not be easy but children and getting them to share their magic is my specialty. Our session went surprisingly well. Anytime you have a large group of people and especially kids you have your work cut out for you. They all were so cooperative and patient. Every last one of them. I applaud the Williamson Family for all your efforts to capture the beautiful legacy of your family. What an important thing to do that is often overlooked. A special thanks to Katy for coordinating this photography session. Its not often that most family can really truly get together to make something like this happen. These guys were not all from Yuba City either- so it was some work making it happen.  Grandma and Grandpa, I hope I was able to capture the beauty of your grandbabies as they won’t be like this for long…..  ENJOY!

Mini sessions are back  in Yuba City!!!! Moments to Remember Photography will be holding summer photography sessions at my location in Yuba City from July 20-Aug 10th.  Contact: Michelle Chandler- photographer at 530-674-9477.  Being a photographer I don’t want you to miss any of those { oh so cute } moments of your children growing up. Summer time  in Yuba city is one occasion where you don’t need a ton of pictures but don’t want to miss this phase in your little ones life. 

So mini sessions are perfect.

I have had many of you asking about summer mini sessions and here they are. I know it’s already the middle of the summer but it’s not too late to capture the magic of the summer for your kiddos. These sessions will be geared around anything summer. The cute bright colored tires, kids eating bright colored ice cream cones and popsicles, sand castle play, those adorable swim suits you can never get enough of and well anything that screams summer. I am totally open for your suggestions and ideas as well. These sessions dates are being released late I know but I thought I would make sure and throw it out there for those of you who have been waiting for them. The dates that these sessions are available are in the flyer above. The price is just the same as last rounds of mini sessions. The cost is $100 and you get the same picture options as last time. This is beautiful Whitney Traynham of Yuba City. Being a photographer and following newborns through their 1st year is the best thing on earth. She did fabulous today!

This is Taylor. I was Taylors BFF photographer from the ‘09 school year.  Yuba City is my main  area for senior photography, but last night we traveled. This was one of my 1st traveling photography senior photography sessions ever.  We started in Yuba city and ended up in beautiful downtown Marysville.  It was such a fun night! I had the hardest time choosing what images to use they were all so amazing. She was absolutely adorable! This was my very 1st senior of the 2010 school year! YEA!

I was Chelsea’s senior photographer last year when she attended River Valley in Yuba City. Chelsea is heading off to college in just a few mos. She is sooo excited! Here are some fun photos for her mom to remember her by as she makes her journey into life and leaves home. I know she will be missed. I just met her only a year ago and she is one of the dearest and sweetest young girls I have met. Good luck as you Leave Yuba City Chelsea and may you always remember your favorite Photographer who was so much fun! LOL. This is our new Pet { Bella }. You know me being a photographer I could not help but do my own photography session of  our little newborn. LOL. This photography session was done in our home in Yuba City right in our front yard.  To see Buddy when he was a baby click here

Pet Photography is really not as easy as it looks. I think its much harder than taking pictures of humans. Treats are definitly required!
